Wonderful visit today!!! The weather was beautiful, in the 60's, sunny. We were able to take her outside immediately when we got there, and we played with her outside for the entire visit. She did not fuss. She had a great time, sliding, swinging, playing. We tried to teach her how to run, and she thought that was hilarious. She tried, but she's not very fast yet. She sure did love it, though. I believe we absolutely wore her out today because the last 30 minutes were spent with her in mine or Robin's arms, head on our shoulders. Still she was very happy, though. We showed her the picture book I put together, and she was very interested...kept pointing at Robin and me in the photos. She is still quite amazed with Robin's face, now trying to dig into his eyes and mouth. He doesn't seem to mind, though.
We have figured out that this little girl loves food, and it does not seem to matter what food. If she gets fussy, any snack makes her happy, but then she fusses when you quit feeding her. She forgets about it after a few seconds, though. I think this is a normal thing for orphans, but it sure is funny to observe. We are already talking about clearing off the bottom shelves in the pantry so that she doesn't eat us out of house and home.
It was so hard to leave her today. She leaned over to me to kiss me after her caretaker picked her up. So, so, so sweet!! Robin got his hug and kiss as well. The good visit made it that much harder to leave, but it's nice to have such a wonderful lasting memory to bring home.
Tomorrow is a physical for both Robin and myself by a team of 8 doctors. I don't think there is really much to it, but it's a necessary formality. (We already had the required lab tests and physical by our Dr.'s at home.) After that, it will be too late to go to the orphanage, so we will tour the Kremlin and Red Square.

It sounds like ya'll have had a great time with each other. I am so excited for both of you. Hopefully the picture book will help her to remember the great family she will soon be able to come home to (that was a great idea). Hope that you enjoy the rest of the day - minus the doctors. We can not wait until you get back so that we can see a lot more pictures. We will keep you in our prayers for your journey back home. P.S. I am already getting clothes for her and her scooby snacks for when she comes to the office. Be careful and we will see you when you get back.

I know it is going to be hard to leave her, but we can't wait till you get home and fill us in on all the details. It sounds like I will have another little neighbor who likes cookies! We pray for your safe trip home.

I just happen to stumble across your blog on Karen's blog and I was so glad I did! Hearing your experiences with your little girl just makes me THAT much more anxious to go and meet ours (HOPEFULLY soon!).
Enjoy the rest of your trip and congratulations....can't wait to be able to see pictures!
